Serene Keen has been in the legal field for over 27 years, principally in the Intellectual Property area. Ms. Keen attended Indiana University at South Bend and obtained a paralegal certificate at the American Institute of Paralegal Studies, Notre Dame, Indiana. She started her legal career at Barnes & Thornburg in South Bend, Indiana, which at the time was the largest law firm in Indiana. In 1989, she moved to South Florida, where she worked for a Miami-based Intellectual Property boutique law firm, under the guidance of a Professor of Patent Law at the University of Miami. Thereafter, she worked for another Intellectual Property boutique law firm, and more recently, at Becker & Poliakoff, P.A., in the patent and litigation departments.
