How do I protect patents and trademarks in the U.S.?

How can German companies act when they determine that plagiarism of their products appears
in the U.S.? This and many other questions relating to the protection of intellectual property in the U.S. was the topic of a seminar conducted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on  November 16, 2007. Attorney Catherine Hoffman from Fort Lauderdale (in the center of the pictu
re), partner of the law office Mayback & Hoffman, is a specialist in the area of protection of intellectual property. She explained to the businessmen and women, export and purchasing managers, how intellectual properties can be obtained and defended in the U.S. The seminar included helpful information with reference to procedural law in the U.S. as well as information regarding the development of strategies for avoiding problems ahead of time or to at least keep them to a minimum.
