> Scott Smiley

Scott D. Smiley is a Registered Patent Attorney who concentrates his practice on Patent and Trademark law, with a special emphasis on the prosecution and litigation of patents dealing with the electronic arts. Mr. Smiley has brought to the firm a formidable combination of education and engineering experience.

Mr. Smiley currently serves as a Professor of Patent Law at Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad Law Center, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Scott holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and, before attending law school, Mr. Smiley designed antenna and communication systems for military and commercial aircraft and magnetic components for a broad range of electronic applications. Scott also served as a Professor of Engineering for several years at a local South Florida college, where he taught classes in both electrical engineering and computer programming.

In addition to his patent practice, Mr. Smiley provides advice to clients on all Intellectual Property matters including licensing, opinion drafting, trademark prosecution and litigation, due diligence studies, and Intellectual Property portfolio management.
